It’s hard to believe our wedding was 6 weeks ago. I debated sharing our photos at all, let alone doing a blog post… so many poor couples I know have had to reschedule or cancel their weddings due to everything going on in the world right now, and I didn’t want to rub it in. My heart truly goes out to them, and I feel incredibly fortunate that we just missed the pandemic and were able to celebrate our wedding. That being said, weddings are happy occasions and I think we can all use a little cheering up right now.

It’s true that your wedding day goes by in a flash; I remember being at the end of the night thinking “seriously? It’s over???” Idan and I had a 14-month engagement which was perfect for us. We got married in Scottsdale, Arizona because it’s where we’re both from, where we met, and where our parents live (and, it’s a gorgeous place to get married in February!). We were slightly concerned about the weather, but it ended up being 70 and sunny all day. We got very lucky!
A note on long-distance planning: Planning the wedding from Chicago and then New York wasn’t actually as hard as people have told me long-distance planning can be. Our vendors were great about packing in all of our pre-wedding needs into weekends–for example, we did our dinner tasting, cake tasting, hair and makeup trial, AND my bridal shower all in one weekend when I was back! I made all of our wedding crafts from New York, and packed an extra suitcase every time I went back to AZ and brought them all back with me. I was also very lucky that my in-laws dedicated an entire room of their house to be our “wedding bunker” where I had packages shipped for months and months. I think they are very happy to have their spare bedroom back now :)
The day was absolutely perfect, even with a few small things that went wrong–I think those are the perfect things, too. At the end of the day, I’m just so happy to have had the best day and to be married to the love of my life. It really is just one day, but it’s one we’ll remember and love for the rest of our lives.
Thank you to all of our incredible vendors who made planning easy–we love you! I also did a LOT of DIYs for the wedding–you can see how I did them here.
