DIY Stenciled Tote Bag

DIY Stenciled Tote Bag - Love Always, Audrey BlogOkay, so I’m like, really into coffee. And DIY projects. And being green. So, I made this super cool tote bag! It’s fairly easy to make, minus the tedious task of cutting out all the letters. Check out the tutorial below!

DIY Stenciled Tote Bag - Love Always, Audrey BlogSupplies Needed:

– Tote bag
Martha Stewart Metallic Gold Paint
– An x-acto knife
– A sponge-y brush thing (does anyone know what that’s called?)
– An iron
– Straight pins
Freezer paper
– Scraps of cardboard

DIY Stenciled Tote Bag - Love Always, Audrey BlogStep One:
Print out your design and tape lightly to the cardboard scrap. Place a sheet of freezer paper over (make sure it’s sticky side down!), and tape that down lightly, too. Using the x-acto knife, carefully cut out your letters! Be sure to keep the insides of letters like O, A, P, etc. – you’ll be using them later!

Using the straight pins, pin the sticky side of the freezer paper down and iron until all the paper is stuck to the fabric.

Carefully dab the paint onto the fabric. Don’t use a sweeping motion, as this will let bits of paint get into any crevices that aren’t ironed down!

Wait for your project to dry, and then it’s ready to go!
